Preparing release

Windows Setup

Preparing release

Direct-download Portable and Setup builds may be unsigned. Windows may show an unknown publisher or SmartScreen warning. Microsoft Store is the recommended option.

Security updates

Updates are checked only when you choose Help → Check for updates. Screen Dos does not download or install updates automatically.

After verification, Screen Dos opens the official release page or Release Notes in your default browser when you choose to continue.

Environment and use

The primary Host target is Windows 11 64-bit. Windows 10 64-bit is best effort and needs separate acceptance before formal support. Open the Viewer in another device's browser. One Viewer can connect at a time. It is view-only: remote input, audio and file transfer are not provided.

Select an IPv4 endpoint on the Host and open its current QR code or connection URL on the Viewer. Enter the six-digit PIN when enabled, then inspect and approve the request on the Host. Approval is also required without a PIN. Select a physical display or window on the Host and start sharing.

A Windows Viewer can also use the separate Screen Dos Connection Launcher, which requires WebView2 Runtime. Launcher does not replace Screen Dos PIN verification or Host approval. Its distribution is a separate artifact.

Virtual Display is a separate paid option

Normal physical-display and window sharing is free. Virtual Display creates an additional Windows display and requires a production-signed driver, a compatible release and ready Production Commerce. It is currently being prepared; purchase and Trial intake remain unavailable.

The Virtual Display explanation covers price, Trial start conditions, three-device registration, recovery, deactivation, refunds and authoritative Legal. Contribution is independent optional support and does not purchase or unlock Virtual Display.

Screen Dos, its distributed binaries and provided Source snapshots are covered by Nagori Soft Software License Version 1.0 (JA/EN). Source provision does not mean provision under an OSI Open Source License. Third-party components retain their own licenses.
